Abstract:
Total quality management has become of the most important approach is being
adopted today, and it is an important element for the institution to achieve the objectives
effectively to face the changes and challenges of being in high rank and continuity in the
market beside globalization and strive to provide commodity or service to challenge the
alternative competitive. This study aimed to identify the effect of total quality
management in achieving competitive advantage in the Sudanese Universities; this
applied study was conducted in Gezira College of Technology in Khartoum city. The
researcher adopted the analytical descriptive approach to describe and analyze the data by
designing a questionnaire for data collection then analyze the data; the researcher used the
statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) and coefficient correlation to test the
hypotheses. The main findings of this study are: the college must establish the concept of
cultural systemization to the college employees to participate in making decision freely,
college should harness the scientific, intellectual, and research capabilities of its academic
staff by finding the suitable remedies of social and economic problems. College must
meet the present and future graduates demands to find an opportunity job in the labor
market. This study recommended that all employees in the college must share to achieve
the demand quality by active participation, and apply their scientific ideas and views as
obligatory limited criteria. The continuous improvement and development for all
employees in the college should be emphasized especially that can help to achieve
excellent service. College must conduct comprehensive surveys for college graduates to
provide an accurate relationship between excellence qualities with competitive
advantages.
