This Study examined the impact of work stress in the computer
companies in Khartoum state. The research problem revolves around the
relationship between work load and work stress. And the relationship of role
ambiguity, job security, work environment, and on the other side the work
stress. The study aimed to shed light on the components of work stress and
the causes of work stress in computer companies. Also to become
acquainted with the results and consequences of work stress and to assist in
the decision of developing appropriate regulations to limit the negative
impact of work stress, as well as finding out the causes of work stress
experienced by workers in computer companies and to remove such causes.
Accordingly four hypotheses were developed and tested the relationship
between some independent variables like the work load, role ambiguity, job
security, and the work environment. The work stress was the dependent
variable. The research followed the descriptive, analytical and case study
methods. Data were collected via questionnaire instrument and secondary
sources, and then statistical techniques were used for the analysis. The study
explored that there is a positive relationship between increased workload
and work stress, and lack of job clarity leads to work stress, Lack of job
satisfaction and contentment lead to work stress, and the Job insecurity leads
to work stress. The study explained results and concluded with
recommendations of which the most important are that, The need to raise the
level of education and implementation of plans and training programs for the
workers in the computer companies; as well as creating a conducive
working environment that contributes in limiting work stress; finally,
commitment to the number of working hours and not to deviate from the
laws that govern work relations in the private sector. |
