Abstract:
Reading is the interpretation of symbols that are printed or written. This research observes the barriers that affect the students in reading comprehension smoothly. The study aims at finding out the problems which face students when reading comprehension and to improve the students' level of reading. The study uses a descriptive analytical method. The sample of the study includes (50) EFL learners . They are selected randomly from secondary level at Kamleen Locality. (SPSS) progrmm was used to analysis the data of the study. The analysis of the data revealed that the students at secondary level have poor competence in reading. Also they cannot read long passage smoothly. Teachers play a great and important role in improving EFL learners’ readability. Lack of comprehension skills leads to anxious and inactive during learning process. Reading comprehension is an important factor for influencing the creation of effective learning. It is highly recommended that teachers should have enough training to improve learners performance in reading. Students should melt their contributions in a form of group work activity. Teachers should show close follow-up. Good teaching should be reflected in teachers’ ability to adapt and supplement textbooks. Teachers should have an essential role in creating and motivating students to interact and comprehend. Teachers should create classroom activities for encouraging learners to read and give a meaningful. When learners understand, they should interpret, integrate, infer, analyze, connect and evaluate ideas in texts.
