dc.description.abstract Where the technology plays an essential role in the organizations, helping them to work better and maximizing their operations targets achievements, the IT Auditor plays an increasingly important role in helping organizations to manage and respond to risks. This study is conducted in Wad-Medani in the University of Gezira the internal auditing unit. The aims of this study are: firstly to gather some of the internal auditor’s skills to be available for other auditors in the University of Gezira, and help them to accomplish their mission using computer system, secondly to collect the experiences of the auditors to design the system, thirdly to help them to manage their tasks in a systematic way by automating the accounting files they work on; so it saves more time and effort in the internal auditing accountant process, finally to help the internal auditor to take a good, fast, and more accurate decisions and to provide an internal auditing system for the University of Gezira. The proposed system is developed in three steps, in the first step the University of Gezira’s objectives and the nature and scope of the internal auditing problem are determined and the internal auditing costs and benefits are described. Also in the first step the system requirements are defined by defining the functions and operations of the internal auditing system and analyzing the internal auditor information needs. The second step is the system design step in which the features and operations of the internal auditing are described in details, including process diagrams using object oriented modeling concepts. At the last step of the internal auditing system development methodology the system is developed and tested, this step is termed as the system evolution step. The study results in applying the object oriented models of the internal auditing process as internal auditing system. The study concludes that the object oriented modeling is capable of developing such a system without any problem, Furthermore using object oriented modeling minimizes the time needed to create such computer systems. Moreover it concludes that the internal audit units can utilize the computer to a great degree in the performance of their auditing tasks and also the proposed system can be used to maximize the integrity of the internal auditing procedures. The study recommends future studies which include the other computer systems of the organization such as human resource system, the entire accounts system, and the other manual processes. In addition, its recommend that bear in mind the internal audit in case of developing a new computer system, by including the internal auditing unit in the system analysis and design steps. en_US
