dc.description.abstract Learning a foreign language may face many problems and requires a professional teacher to find the proper techniques to overcome these difficulties; One of the most effective techniques that can be used to decrease the difficulties is using group work. The study aims to investigate group work techniques for increasing students’ classroom interaction to get the proper ways for dealing with the problems of the old traditional classes of EFL, to activate the group work at secondary schools. The study adopted descriptive analytical method. The data was collected by the mean of a questionnaire from (29) teachers from Hasahiesa locality, then were analysed statistically with (SPSS) programme ,as a result of the analysis the study has found that: The old traditional method of teaching English Language in Sudan does not give students the sufficient chance to produce the language during the class time, students does not have the chance to use the language communicatively in a social context, the usage of English language which include the interaction between students decrease learning difficulties that may emerge during the process of learning English Language, teachers' qualification and training ,and awareness of students’ role in the educational process is demanded for using group work more effectively, paying more attention to the essential role of communicative skills and integrate communicative use of language to the traditional techniques and offer the activities that increase group work activities is required by Sudanese EFL syllabus designers, the study recommends that: Teacher must pay more attention to the importance of students participation in EFL classes and find the effective ways of group work to stimulate the participation of students, the language must be used in communicational frame through group work for better performance in EFL classes, student must be encouraged to speak and use the language in the class with his colleagues.   en_US
