dc.description.abstract Asthma is a common chronic inflammatory condition of the airways; its cause is incompletely understood. Symptoms are cough, wheeze, chest tightness and short-ness of breath, often worse at night. This study was conducted in Alkariabah area (2015) to measure the level of asthma control and to determent factors affecting asthma control. This cross sectional community based study conducted in Alkaria-bah area among adult asthmatic patient and data collected through asthma ques-tionnaire test and analyzed by social packet of statistic of science (SPSS). Asthma control was categorized as “well controlled,” “partially,” or “very poorly con-trolled” according to National Asthma Education and Prevention Program. Results. Of the respondents (n = 390), in Alkariabah area, revealed that 29.2% of partici-pant met the criteria for well-controlled asthma, 30.8% not well controlled asthma, and 40.0% very poor controlled asthma. In this study low socioeconomic and high body mass index were associated with poor asthma control p.value 0.03 also non having routine checkup and non-taken health education toward asthma manage-ment were associated with poor and partial asthma control p.value 0.000, 0.001 re-spectively . In addition, smoking and non-usage of controller medication associated with poor and partial asthma control p.value 0.002, 0.000respectivly .this study conclude there is high of prevalence of partially -controlled Asthma and poorly controlled asthma among adult asthmatic patients in Alkariabah was 70.8%. This study suggests that partial and poor asthma control was highly affected by modifi-able factors as Low socioeconomic status, higher body mass index, routine check-up, controller medication, health education on how to manage Bronchial Asthma and Smoking. en_US
