dc.description.abstract Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, it is safe, simple and effective. This study was conducted to assess the vaccination services provided for children under 2 years in Alerabab area, Gezira state, Sudan, 2014-2015‎. It was across-sectional, descriptive health center based study, done during a three month period from September to December 2015, a random sample of 80 mothers of under two years children were selected and interviewed using a structured questionnaire, also data was collected by a check lists and from health center vaccination registry. The study results showed that vaccination coverage was 89.0% in 2014 and it increased to 99.9% in Jan-Sep 2015. The assessment of the E. P. I. unit was good and within standards, with some exceptions. Most of the mothers were young less than 30 years 64 (80.0%), educated and the illiteracy was only 2 and the majority of mothers were housewives 75 (93.8%). The families were of a low socioeconomic status less than 1000 SDP 69 (86.3%), the overall knowledge score was moderate 67.7%, the overall attitude score was high77.8%, while the score of practice was high 88.5%, the majority of the mothers had heard about vaccination from vaccinator or TV, All mothers were generally satisfied with the vaccination services provided by the health center. In conclusion, vaccination coverage for children under 2 years was high, the quality of service was good with some exceptions, (infection control and privacy of the place),the mothers uses vaccination cards, the KAP of mothers towards the vaccination service was good and most of mothers were satisfied. The vaccination needs continuous and sustained planning, implementation and follow up, raise the awareness of parents towards the use of vaccination card is essential, more training is needed to promote the level of vaccinators towards infection control and the KAP of mothers towards effective use of immunization services.   en_US
